A Ferrari 512 rolls by a Porsche 911 R along the Mulsanne Straight in the driving rain. A classic scene from the 1971 movie “Le Mans”.  Steve McQueen was the star of the movie and his company, Solar Productions, was responsible for producing the film. It wasn’t particularly successful upon release and only gained a following, mainly among car enthusiasts, many years later.
